Tracking the scans of a QR code
A static code cannot count anything: the phone opens the destination directly. An editable code goes through a short link that counts every scan.
Create your QR code: free and static, or editable for life for €2.99 paid once.
What QR Durable measures
- Scans per day over 30 days, and the total.
- Device type (phone, computer, tablet) and system (iOS, Android…).
- Nothing about the person: no IP address, no location, no cookie.
How to use it
- A different code per material (flyer, window, card) to learn which one works.
- Compare before and after moving a code.
- A spike right after a distribution confirms it paid off.
What about GDPR?
Counting scans without identifying people, as QR Durable does, collects no personal data about them. If you then add tracking tools on your own website (ads, analytics), your website’s rules apply, with consent where required.
Questions
Can I know who scanned?
No, on purpose: statistics are anonymous totals.
Do bots count as scans?
No: automatic link previews from messaging apps (WhatsApp, Slack…) are excluded from the counter.
